Rice Kheer

It’s a creamy dessert with dry fruits that everyone must try…

Ingredients

1. 50 gms Basmati rice
2. 500 ml milk
3. 100 gms sugar
4. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
5. For garnishing:
Saffron, dry fruits of your choice (cashew, almonds, pistachios, raisin)

Procedure

  • Wash and soak the rice for 15-20 minutes and drain the water.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, mix milk, rice, cardamom powder and boil for 6-7 minutes. Stir in between.
  • Microwave again for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add sugar and microwave at 60% for 10 minutes and 40% for 5 minutes.
  • Allow it to stand for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish it with saffron, and your favorite chopped nuts.

Note

Health tip:

For a low calorie version, you can use toned milk and avoid dry fruits.
